SBA lending by county

Which lenders actually funded businesses in your county, at what size, on what terms — from the SBA's loan-level release.

National and state averages hide a lot. The lender that dominates one metro often does almost no business in the next one, and median loan sizes vary by a factor of three between counties in the same state. These pages show the local picture.

Does location actually matter for a business loan?

Less than borrowers assume, and more than lenders admit. Most SBA lenders lend across state lines and several of the largest are non-bank lenders with no branches at all, so you are not restricted to local names. What local data genuinely tells you is which institutions are already comfortable with businesses like yours nearby — which correlates with speed and with saying yes.

    Looking for something more specific?

For lender data by industry rather than geography, use who lends by sector and state. For real estate projects, the 504 pages show which CDCs and banks close together in each state.
